Gorgonzola D.O.P. Cremoso 150g
Specifications: Gorgonzola Dolce DOP is a soft, blue, buttery cheese made from pasteurized cow's milk. It has a pale yellow buttery paste speckled with a homogeneous distribution of blue and green veins. The rind is compact, rough, hard and grey/pinkish in colour but not edible. Flavors are not very assertive but sweet, mild with notes of sour cream and lactic tang. It takes a minimum of 45 days of ageing to let Gorgonzola demonstrate its unique characteristics.
Those seeking a blue cheese with a kick might turn to a Gorgonzola Piccante, but not everyone is always in the mood for that Italian mountain cheese's hit of pungency. That's why this version was developed; meaning "sweet" in Italian, Gorgonzola "Dolce" was developed largely in response to the demand for a milder version of the iconic blue wheel.
Gorgonzola pairs well with Tuscan Vin Santo and Prosecco, but also beers.
The first Galbani factory was founded in 1882, in Ballabio, Lecco.
Galbani brings to the tables of its consumers a slice of genuine Italian flavour: fresh and tasty cheeses that represent not only the best Italian culinary tradition but also the so celebrated Italian attitude and lifestyle.
